Distinguished Scholar
In order for a student to receive the Distinguished Scholar award from Don Lugo High School, the student must meet ALL of the following criteria by the end of the 7th semester.

In order for a student to receive the Graduate with Honors award from Don Lugo High School, the student must meet ALL of the following criteria by the end of the 7th semester.

HONOR ROLL AND PRINCIPAL’S HONOR ROLL
Students who earn a 3.0-3.74 unweighted GPA in a semester may qualify honor roll, while students with a 3.75 and higher unweighted GPA may qualify for Principal’s Honor Roll.
Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll recipients are recognized each semester. Students must be enrolled in 4 periods on the Don Lugo campus and receive no Fs for the semester.
ACADEMIC LETTERS
Twice a year academic letters are available for eligible sophomores, juniors and seniors to apply for based on their grade point average. In order to be eligible for an academic letter, students must hold a valid ASB card, Renaissance card and have at least 3 qualifying semesters. The academic letter is awarded to students who consistently achieve a high academic standing and demonstrate their desire to achieve academic success. The point system requires students to obtain 60 points. The points are given based on your GPA. You must accumulate 60 points to be eligible and must be enrolled in 4 periods on the Don Lugo campus. This letter is awarded once during a student’s time at Don Lugo and includes the athletic letter.

CONQUISTADOR SCHOLAR PATCH
The student must have maintained a cumulative 3.5 GPA during the first semester of the Varsity year (or second year) of participating in an extra-curricular (non sport) activity such as spiritleading, band, dance team, theater, leadership, etc. The student must apply for this patch with their adviser/coach at the end of their season prior to their banquet. All students who are eligible and hold a valid ASB card may receive the Conquistador Scholar patch once a year in their program.
SCHOLAR ATHLETE PATCH
The student must have maintained a cumulative 3.5 GPA and be involved in a Varsity Sport to qualify for this patch. This patch is awarded only once at the end of the sport season
This patch must be requested by the coach and will be given to the athlete by the coach at banquet. All students who are eligible and hold a valid ASB card may receive the Scholar Athlete patch once a year in their program.
- Student must have a GPA of 3.9 or better (overall/weighted).
- Student must meet all graduation requirements AND be A-G eligible.
- Student must complete (with a “C” or better) a minimum of 28 semesters from the following list of classes. Must meet the minimum requirements for each subject area. Can be a combination of any of the classes.
- Student must have a GPA of 3.75 or better (overall/weighted).
- Student must meet all graduation requirements AND be A-G eligible.
